What is the solution for?

Commercial Transactions brings together information on announced deals in the power generation market, organizing the participants, projects involved and available characteristics of each transaction.

Use the search to track acquisitions, identify relationships between companies and explore energy contracts and equipment supply deals. This information helps you understand market players' activities and prepare commercial and market analyses.

Find transactions of interest

In the Search field, enter words appearing in the transaction description. You can search for a company name, a project name or a term related to the deal you wish to investigate.

To view the complete list, leave the field blank and click Search. Results initially show the most recent announcements first.

Use the Class filter to focus on types of deals such as:

  • Company: transactions involving companies and equity interests.

  • Projects: deals involving developments or project portfolios.

  • PPA: power purchase agreements and related supply arrangements.

  • Equipment: deals involving equipment supply for developments.

Combine the search text with the class to narrow the list and find records more relevant to your objective.

Understand the results

The table provides information to put each announcement into context:

  • Transaction description: describes the recorded deal.

  • Public announcement date: helps you follow the sequence of events.

  • Seller and buyer corporate groups: identifies the parties reported in the record.

  • Total transaction capacity: shows the power capacity associated with the deal, in MW, when available.

  • Transaction value: shows the recorded value in millions of US dollars, when available.

  • Generation source and project status: identifies the technology and development stage.

  • Projects involved: identifies the assets mentioned in the transaction.

Not all announcements disclose capacity, value or the complete project list. An empty field indicates missing information in the record, rather than a value of zero.

Consult the original information

In Main Information Source, click Access here to open the publication associated with the transaction.

This lets you understand the announcement's context, the interest being traded and any conditions for completing the deal. The public announcement date may differ from the signing or closing date.

When comparing records, also check whether different announcements refer to the same negotiation or to different stages of a deal.

Organize your search and export data

Use Columns to choose the information displayed in the table. To follow the participants, prioritize buyer, seller, description and date. To analyze assets, include capacity, generation source, status and projects involved.

Click column headers to sort results and use pagination to review additional records.

The Exports area, with the Search Results button, lets you take the query data into your analyses. Export page exports the records shown on the current page.

A practical example

Imagine you want to follow deals in the wind power market.

Search for a term appearing in the descriptions, such as the Portuguese word “eólico”, and select Projects to investigate deals involving developments. Compare the reported buyers, sellers and capacities, and consult the source publications for the most relevant records.

Then change the class to Equipment to explore supply announcements related to the segment. This sequence helps you observe both asset transactions and commercial relationships between developers and suppliers.

Turn announcements into market context

The search helps identify expansion activity, portfolio changes and relationships between companies. Combine this information with Market Players and Power Plants and Projects to learn more about the participants and developments mentioned.
