How to export data for your analyses
Export search results and map data for use in spreadsheets, studies and reports.
Start by selecting the data relevant to your objective. In ePowerBay, you can export from search pages or map layers, depending on the options available.
1. Export from the search page
Apply the filters and check the results. Where column selection is available, choose the necessary fields, including identifiers and references.
Use the export option and check its scope. Some exports, such as generation or curtailment data, have their own set of fields.
2. Export from the map
Enable the layer of interest and locate the area you want to analyse. For layers that support downloads, use the available export option.
Where area selection is available, define the desired area before exporting. Check whether the file covers the selected area or another scope indicated by the tool.
The format and available information may vary between layers.
3. Check the file
After opening the file, verify:
The number and identification of records.
Units, periods and references.
Empty fields or information requiring confirmation.
Geographic coverage, when exported from the map.
Keep a copy of the original file and record the query date.
4. Prepare your analysis
Organise the data into tables, charts or reports. Compare information from compatible periods and criteria.
An export reflects the data available when the query was made. To track changes, export again and record the date of each version.
