MME Grid Access Ordinances: search acts and explore connection alternatives
Explore ordinances, identify the projects and facilities mentioned, and open documents to deepen your grid access analysis.
Explore the solution
The ePowerBay MME Grid Access Ordinances solution brings together records of acts related to grid access, with information that helps identify developments, interested parties and the infrastructure mentioned.
The tool facilitates document research and complements assessments of generation projects, electricity consumption facilities and other connection initiatives. You can locate acts, review their summaries and open documents to read the full content.
Find ordinances of interest
Under Search Type, choose how to search:
Subjects contains: search terms in indexed subjects, such as company, project, municipality or substation names.
Title contains: search by number, year or part of the act's title.
You can also enable Search by multiple terms and use Issuing Body to select the source of the records.
Click Search to display results. For a broader list, leave the text field blank and apply only your preferred filter.
Understand the results
The table displays available data for each act:
Act title and issuing body: identify the document and its origin.
Indexed subjects: help identify companies, projects, places and facilities mentioned.
Summary: provides an overview of the act's subject matter.
Signature date and publication date: distinguish document issuance from publication.
Official publication reference: indicates where the act was published.
Administrative proceedings: identifies associated proceedings.
Revocation status: shows the information recorded in the database.
Document link: opens the full text.
Use summaries and subjects to select relevant records before reading documents in depth.
Open the full document
In Document Link, open the publication associated with the ordinance.
Reading the full text lets you explore the grid access alternative described, the facilities involved and the conditions established by the act. Also look for references to studies, procedures and instruments required to develop the connection.
The summary helps locate documents but does not replace the full ordinance.
Organize your search and export data
Use Columns to choose displayed information. For project research, prioritize title, subjects and summary. To organize a document list, include dates, administrative proceedings and publication references.
Click headers to sort records, including by publication date, and adjust the number of results per page.
Under Exports, Search Results lets you take query data into your analyses and reports. Export page exports the records on the displayed page.
A practical example
To investigate acts related to a substation, select Subjects contains and search its name. Review summaries to identify the developments and grid access alternatives mentioned.
Open relevant documents and record their numbers, dates and administrative proceedings. Then repeat the query using the company or project name to broaden your research.
Combine this review with ONS Grid Access Queue and Basic Grid Substations to explore the context of requests and associated infrastructure.
Consider each act's context
An ordinance must be interpreted according to its subject matter and conditions. Its existence alone does not establish that a development is connected or operational.
Likewise, “No express revocation recorded” describes the information in the database and does not replace checking amendments or subsequent acts.
This query helps organize research and locate the documents needed for a fuller analysis.
