Explore the solution

The ePowerBay ONS Grid Access Queue solution brings together information on requests registered with Brazil's National Electric System Operator (ONS).

The tool helps you explore developments seeking grid access, their indicated connection points and the status of available records. Use this information to investigate generation, consumption and distribution activity and complement regional and substation assessments.

Find requests of interest

Under Search Type, choose to search by request description or name of the substation associated with the busbar. For substations, you can search for part of the name or use text search.

You can also enable Search by multiple terms. For a broader query, leave the text field blank and combine the filters:

  • Status: select the stage of the records you wish to analyze.

  • Works Required?: narrow the query using the indication of required works.

  • Development Type: focus on your segment of interest.

  • Type: use the additional classification provided in the database.

  • State: define the region to search.

  • Feasibility: select an available feasibility classification.

Click Search to display results, initially ordered by the most recent requests.

Understand queue data

The table provides information to put each request into context:

  • Request date and description: identify the record and when it was requested.

  • Protocol number: helps distinguish requests with similar names.

  • Connection point and substation: identify associated infrastructure, where available.

  • Status and access feasibility: show available classifications.

  • Works Required? and voltage level: provide additional context on recorded conditions.

  • Development and request types: help distinguish the nature of requests.

  • Applicant and CNPJ: identify the responsible party and Brazilian corporate tax ID, where provided.

  • Commissioning: shows the recorded date, where available.

When comparing records, check the protocol and request type. A revision or amendment should not automatically be interpreted as a new development.

Explore connection points on the map

The map shows records with available location information and their geographical distribution.

Combine the map with the table to identify requests concentrated in a region or associated with specific infrastructure. Where a link is available, the substation name opens its analysis page.

Use Basic Grid Substations to complement your research with infrastructure, generation evacuation margins, connected projects and associated works.

Organize your query and export data

Use Columns to select displayed information. To follow progress, prioritize date, protocol, status and feasibility. To investigate connection points, include substation, voltage, state and required works.

Click column headers to sort records and adjust the number of results per page.

Under Exports, Search Results lets you take query data into your analyses and reports. Export page exports the records on the displayed page.

A practical example

To investigate access activity in a region, select the state and development type of interest. Compare recent requests, connection points and recorded statuses.

Then search for a specific substation to explore associated requests. Examine protocols, feasibility and indications of works, and export results to organize your comparison.

This sequence helps identify development activity and guide more detailed research into projects and infrastructure.

Interpret the queue in context

A request's presence does not guarantee approval, contracted grid access or project commissioning. Ordering by date does not, on its own, establish processing priority.

Consider each record's status and the currency of available data. Empty fields indicate missing information and should not automatically be interpreted as negative answers.
